Karawang

Karawang is the capital of the Karawang Regency of West Java, Indonesia. It is located 70km east of Jakarta, by motorway.

While Karawang's main industry is agriculture and aquaculture, industrial industrialisation has been pronounced especially since Karawang International Industry City (KIIC), and Kawasan Surya Cipta were built. The growth in industry includes sectors of automobiles, paper, and electronics. Old Karawang's commercial district is known as Tuparev street. Karawang has an international school (Texmaco DPS International School) which caters to the largely expatriate Indian community working in Polysindo.

Karawang like the rest of Java has a tropical climate.
